dynasty Episode 167 - The Garage

Little Krystina's surgery turns out to be a success.  Yes, there is always the chance for rejection but after three weeks, Krystina is fine and is ready to meet the paparazzi as she exits the hospital to return to Denver.  Meanwhile, Sarah, who is watching this happy moment on television, is a wreck.  Typical Sarah.  Dex decides to pay her a visit, without calling first, and offers to take her to lunch.  Sarah politely turns him down and tells him that if she needs to speak to someone, she will call him.  Gee, Dex came all the way to Wyoming just to check on you, Sarah, you could at least grab a bite to eat.

For a wreck, Sarah has taken great care of her nails

The family gathers at the mansion to greet Krystina on her return.  Blake also brings a nurse, Nurse Johnson, with them so she can look after little Krystina.  We can already tell that Nurse Johnson is a real ball buster and a person everyone is going to hate.  I mean, she already refuses Krystina a batch of her favorite cookies from Mrs. Gunnerson.

Good thing Krystle arrived uninvited

Good thing Krystle arrived uninvited

While Krystle is grateful for Krystina being at home, healthy and alive, she cannot stop worrying about Sarah.  Blake wants Krystle to forget about it and to move on, but Krystle cannot.  If something happens to Sarah, Krystle will be unable to forgive herself.  To make matters even better, Krystle wants Sarah to move into the mansion for a while, but Blake believes that to be a bad idea.  Only Blake is permitted to allow mentally unstable women to move into the mansion to recover (see Claudia).

Why haven't they invited Dr. Edwards to stay at the mansion, he seems to show up all the time.

When Krystle learns from Dex that Sarah is not really hanging on, Krystle decides to visit Sarah herself.  As with Dex, Krystle does not call ahead of time.  That may actually be a good thing because Krystle arrives just in time to save Sarah from committing suicide.  We all saw that coming.  Now there will be no argument, Sarah is going to stay at the mansion for a while.  Blake still thinks it is a bad idea.

You know what else is a bad idea - Leslie and Clay drawing closer together.  Even though the two do not seem to like one another, they go out to a lake together to have lunch.  The two bicker over some stupid and cliche employee issue and the cliche continues when the two say the same thing at the same time.  Well, that breaks the ice and now the two are going to have dinner together.

Don't they make a cute couple, or siblings.

Don't they make a cute couple, or siblings.

Leslie tells Ben about the date, and Ben does not seem to be too thrilled.  I wonder why.  I also wonder why the show is rehashing the incest theme.  I guess the classics never die.  Of all the men for Leslie to date, why must it be with Clay Fallmont, who could very well be Ben's son.  We just don't know that yet.  But, c'mon we all know where this is heading.

Blake no longer cares about Steven's life choices.

Blake no longer cares about Steven's life choices.

Speaking of rehashing old story lines, Adam continues to drink himself crazy with the fact that he is not a Carrington.  This is a fact that Neal McVane will not let him forget.  And, to make it more interesting, Neal continues to blackmail Adam.  Now, Neal wants an invitation to Dirk Mourier's cocktail party for no other reason than to make Alexis squirm.  Reluctantly, Adam agrees.

Steven isn't the only one confused by Sammy Jo's actions.

Steven isn't the only one confused by Sammy Jo's actions.

At least Adam has Dana to take his stress out on.  Dana does not understand what has changed with Adam and does not think that having sex with him will solve their problems.  On a brighter note, Blake graciously has forgiven Adam (again) for his past mistakes and put him back in the will.  This is probably not the time to tell Blake that Adam really is not his son.

Well, well, well, quite the interesting pair.

Well, well, well, quite the interesting pair.

As for Blake's other son, Steven, matters seem to be going well with Sammy Jo and Blake is fine with Steven living out at Delta Rho with Sammy Jo even if it is all platonic.  Sammy Jo wishes it would be more than just platonic.  When will Sammy Jo ever learn.  After Mourier's cocktail party, Sammy Jo attempts to seduce a topless Steven who is preparing for bed by looking sexy in front of the fireplace.  Steven rejects her just as Sammy Jo realizes she is making as ass of herself.

But, an even more interesting pair.

But, an even more interesting pair.

Neal continues to make an ass of himself, but it is so awesome.  He is all too excited to greet Alexis at Mourier's cocktail party.  Alexis is pissed that Adam invited him.  After giving his regards to Alexis, Neal runs into Michael (who Alexis has rejected again) and offers Michael his business card to contact him if he wishes to help give Alexis what she deserves.  Two things:  1) this seems like a rehash of when Neal recruited Mark Jennings to get even with Alexis and that did not turn out so well for Mark, and 2) what exactly is printed on Neal's business card for occupation - disgraced Congressman, felon.

Be grateful Alexis that Neal is only pointing at you.

Be grateful Alexis that Neal is only pointing at you.

Another surprise for Alexis at Mourier's party is Dex and Dominique attending together, arm in arm.  Of course, there is the usual verbal sparring between Alexis and Dominique.  But, even more humiliating for Alexis is Dex's rejection of her by claiming that they were never friends.  Alexis is becoming more alone and isolated (and spending less time on the show, which is a shame).  Good thing Moruier's is pursuing her hard.

Oh yeah, we call know what is coming next.

Oh yeah, we call know what is coming next.

Finally, let's return to the mansion where Blake still is concerned with Sarah's mental well being.  He believes that she needs psychiatric help.  Where is Dr. Toscanni  when you need him?  (Blake really never tracked him down for his part in the kidnapping of L.B.  He also never found Joel and Rita but I am digressing.)  Blake is bothered by Sarah's behavior especially after Blake sees Sarah leaving Krystina's bedroom.  What did you think she was going to do while at the mansion - pretend Krystina was not there?

Memorable Dialogue

Alexis:  Well, there are those who would say that getting to know Alexis Colby is hardly a cause for celebration.

Alexis [to Dominique]:  In case you missed the point, dear, that's called tit-for-tat.

Dex:  I like to keep up with what's going on.
Alexis:  Hmm, with business or with me.
Dex:  Oh, you flatter yourself, Alexis.  It's interesting.  I mean you and I were lovers, we were married, but I don't think we were ever friends.

Neal:  Alexis, you look absolutely stunning.  You know, every time I see you I say to myself, there is no justice.
