dynasty Episode 32 - The Fragment

It looks like poor Claudia is the one who got shot.  Nick has her rushed to the hospital and then engages in some form of obstruction of justice by having Krystle whisked away.  Why didn't the police get to her first?  Even better, why is there only one fat officer interested in questioning Krystle?  As a china doll, Krystle is too fragile to be questioned and everyone is shielding her.  Everyone, except Fallon, who is more that willing to get Krystle for the police.

So little blood for a head wound

Krystle tells the police that she and Claudia were struggling for the gun after Claudia was going to use it to kill Cecil.  The police seems suspicious.  The only person who could clear this up is Claudia.  Wouldn't you know it, the bullet lodged into the part of the brain that affects speech.  If Claudia is unable to speak, how is she going to tell the police what happened that night.  Apparently, there is only one way to communicate since no one considered that Claudia could just write down what happened.

So, that's Logan Rhinewood

Alexis takes the news of Krystle's possible involvement in the shooting of Claudia as another opportunity to get back with Blake.  No wonder Alexis is stalling in answering Cecil's request to marry him.  That does not stop Cecil from trying and stopping by the studio for a booty call.  How dare Cecil interrupt Alexis's fun evening of watching another Aaron Spelling production, The Love Boat.

The following morning, as Cecil is about to do the "walk of shame" he encounters Blake.  Blake accuses Cecil of causing what happened to Claudia and how Krystle is being targeting by the police and finished it off by calling Cecil scum.  Cecil retorts that Blake is nothing more than common and that he will not be judged by a commoner.

Blake may be returning to common status soon.  The meeting with Logan is a disaster.  Blake does not actually meet Logan, though he is ushered into a horribly decorated suite in Las Vegas.  Logan prefers to talk to his guest with his voice garbled as they look into a camera.  Blake is willing to offer Logan the right to appoint two members to the Denver Carrington Board of Directors since Logan owns approximately 40% of Denver Carrington stock.  Logan notes that he owns close to 50% and that his goal is to take over Denver Carrington.

Logan is watching you Blake

Apparently, math is difficult for the writers of the program.  Blake owns 70% of Denver Carrington stock.  So, the only way for Logan to be close to 50% is if Blake had sold some of his stock.  Why would Blake sell controlling shares of Denver Carrington?  Also, as the series continues, it is almost impossible to keep track of what percentage of Denver Carrington everyone owns unless you assume that 200% is necessary for complete ownership.

Blake leaves angry and Logan continues to buy stock.  We do learn who Logan Rhinewood is - Cecil Colby.  As if we are surprised.

Steven is so upset that Sammy Jo does not want nor need him that he decides to sleep with a hooker.  At least this time he actually performs the deed.  And, more shocking, it was a female hooker.  What is the point of this scene other than to serve as a PSA that hookers, once they are paid, do not want to hear your problems.  We all have problems, dear.

Nick's operation on Claudia is a success in that she did not die.  Even though she has barely recovered, Blake and Krystle rush over to Claudia's room and, with the help of Nick, engage in some witness tampering.  Krystle tries to get Claudia to remember what had happened with the gun.  But, all Claudia can recall is that Krystle had stolen Matthew from her.  Krystle is upset that Claudia does not remember.  Oh, and to make matters worse, the officer had come to the door and heard everything.  How no one noticed this is a mystery to me.  Not looking good Krystle.

Memorable Dialogue

Hooker:  Was she pretty, the other one?
Steven:  Yes, she was from Georgia.
Hooker:  Well, that doesn't necessarily make her pretty.

Alexis:  Hello, Fallon.  I saw the light on and I just had to come over and talk to somebody about this terrible news about poor Krystle.
Fallon:  Poor Krystle, you love it, mother.  I mean, I don't like her being around here still, either, but at least I'm honest about it.

Blake:  You're scum, Cecil.  You're worthless scum.
Cecil:  Listen to yourself Blake, a two bit oil speculator who scrambled his way up out of a hovel into a grand house; posing as a good and great man; rendering judgment on those who he has no birthright to judge.  You're common Blake.  Despite all the veneer, you're very common.
