dynasty Episode 30 - Mother and Son

Alexis needs to clean up this little mess (contraton) with Krystle before Blake finds out.  Alexis invites Tony to her studio and convinces him that he was mistaken when he told Krystle that Alexis had been skeet shooting the day Krystle fell from the horse.  By convince, I mean she threaten to accuse Tony of theft if he did not tell Krystle he was mistaken.  Tony complies and Krystle thanks him.  Even though Krystle does not believe him, she still will not tell Blake for now, but she will never forget what Alexis did.

Tony, at least you are attractive!

Alexis has herself in a whole heap of trouble to try to work out of.  Steven does not believe that Sammy Jo came to Alexis and asked for money in order to leave Steven.  Steven wants the truth from Alexis.  For some strange reason, Alexis does not tell Steven that Sammy Jo was the one who told Fallon about her paternity.  Instead, Alexis tries to get Steven to believe her.  Steven, instead, would rather go look for his wife.  It seems so unnatural even typing that.

Alexis has herself in a whole heap of trouble with Fallon too.  Fallon is still going through this postpartum thing based on her identity crisis of not being a Carrington (you'd still be a Colby though).  Alexis tells Fallon that Blake knew of the disputed paternity years ago but did not believe her and still does not.  Fallon opens up to Nick and tells him that Blake may not be her father.  She also swears Nick to secrecy.  Instead, Nick goes to Blake and tells him why Fallon is acting the way she is.  Nick also suggests a blood test to determine paternity.  He just needs to know who the other potential father is.  Blake will get that from Alexis herself.

Fallon and Jeff's baby is struggling, and Fallon still has not seen the child.  Nick convinces Fallon to see the child, and Fallon is instantly in love.  Fallon tells Jeff that she wants to raise the child and she will not give him custody.  Jeff really should have seen this coming, but he is determined to fight Fallon.  Nick really does not help matters by telling Jeff that sometimes women become attached to their babies a few days after they are born.  Maybe that news could come from a person who is not sleeping with Jeff's wife - which may exclude much of the male population of Colorado.

Fallon and Jeff's baby goes under the knife.  And the surgery is a success.  Of course, we cannot just learn it to be a success without much drama.  The surgeon comes out of the operating room looking all concerned and takes off her cap and shakes her blonde hair before telling the Carrington clan the news.  Best part, is we don't even see her tell them the news.  After she releases her hair, the show cuts to Fallon asking if the baby is dead.  Just awesome!

Claudia has gotten over her fears of being a prostitute and sleeps with Jeff a second time.  Jeff is starting to have feelings for Claudia and she may be having some for him.  Who knows?  What I do know is that she goes into Jeff's office to photograph the information on shale oil extraction.  Wouldn't you know it - in the middle of doing that, Jeff enters.  Claudia is busted!  Jeff thinks Claudia did it for the money but when she tells him she did because Cecil knew where Matthew and Lindsey were, he kind of feels for her.

Jeff goes to Cecil and Cecil tries to play it off that Claudia was the mastermind behind this grand plan.  Jeff is not buying that and demands to know where Matthew and Lindsey are.  Jeff is able to choke the information out of Cecil that the two are lost in the jungle of Peru and presumed dead.  Jeff tells Claudia and also tells her to be strong.  Um, has Jeff not met Claudia before. Claudia is strong all right.  She returns home and pulls out a gun.  In the time before background checks, an unstable woman like Claudia has complete access to a gun.

BUSTED!

Blake is angry with Alexis for telling Fallon the lie about paternity.  Alexis, who had told Krystle that she did study a year at the Royal Academy, puts on a great performance as the victim of Sammy Jo's manipulation.  All Blake cares about is who the other person could be.  He needs to take that test to get Fallon out of her funk.  Alexis does not want to say, but tells him it is Cecil.  Blake is furious that Alexis would sleep with Cecil.  Weren't they friends at the time of the affair?   And, this has not been a good day for Cecil.

Memorable Dialogue

Alexis:  Well, I want you to know I forgive you Krystle; particularly for that little contraton in my studio.
Krystle:  In my world, we call that a fight - a good dirty, no holds-barred cat fight.

Alexis:  Tell me about this play you're concocting in that little blond head of yours.
Krystle:  It's really rather ugly - it's about us.  You were scared to death I'd tell Blake what happened between us.  So, you tried desperately to cover your tracks.
Alexis:  This is very interesting.  Do go on Mrs. Jennings. . . oh, I'm so sorry, Mrs. Carrington.
Krystle:  I haven't told Blake yet what happened between us Alexis because I can't prove you fired that gun to frighten my horse.  But, in my soul, I know you did.  And, I warn you Alexis, I'll never forget what you caused me, not as long as I live.

Alexis:  Get your hands off me Steven.  I'm your mother, not that trollop you married.  Take it off.

Jeff:  You're beginning to mean a lot to me Claudia.
Claudia:  Well, I hope so.  I mean I don't exactly put a sign out on my door saying welcome to my bed - whoever.
