dynasty Episode 65 - Tender Comrades

For some strange reason Claudia has access to the Colby Co. jet because she got Steven and Danny on it to work her grand master plan.  If you have not figured this out by now, you must be pretty dense.  Claudia and Steven fly out to Reno where the two get married.  At this point, I think the Carrington family should have some sort of discount for the number of weddings they have had in Reno.  Considering future Carrington weddings, maybe these quickie wedding in Reno are the right thing to do.

Claudia is the only one here making any sense

After the wedding, Claudia and Steven spend the night, with Danny, at the MGM hotel.  You guys have court tomorrow, can the honeymoon not wait.   Besides, it's not like you can't have sex on the Colby Co. jet, it is pretty private.  Oh yeah, let's not forget that this wedding and love affair is totally ridiculous.  At least Claudia admitted that she lied when Steven #1 asked her to marry him and she said she could not because she loved Matthew.  What do you expect?  Claudia was a little crazy back then.

Danny knows this whole Claudia-Steven marriage is a joke

While Steven is marrying Claudia, Blake summons Andrew to the mansion to go over his summation.  Blake does not want Andrew to include the lies from Sammy Jo.  Andrew, like any good lawyer, does not like having his hands ties, but reluctantly agrees.  At the same time, Andrew gives Blake some great advice about how to get Krystle back by treating her more than just another possession.

Krystle could so take Sammy Jo in a fight

Alexis awakes believing someone is her apartment.  She goes down stairs and asks if anyone is there which is the natural reaction of a person afraid that another prowler is in her place.  At least the penthouse has been cleaned up.  If Alexis is going to continue to be paranoid that someone is out to get her, she probably should stop alienating people.

Adam, who has not really been involved in the hearing, is working late at Denver Carrington forging some documents to make it appear that Alexis is the one responsible for the mercuric oxide that poisoned Jeff.  Now, Adam needs to get Alexis to sign the document.  That is not really that difficult as Adam gets his mother to sign some documents with respect to interest in those South China Sea oil leases and hides the true intentions of the papers.  Alexis, you are too trusting of your son.  You already suspect that he is a sociopath - you should stick with that.

Alexis has Blake where she wants him!

Finally, we have Fallon and Jeff enjoying the after glow of their nostalgia sex.  Jeff tries to sneak out but Fallon was awake and the two have a chat.  Yes, they both wanted the sex, but Fallon needs Jeff to forget the two of them having anything more.  Besides, Jeff you are a married man and there is that little issue of the mercuric oxide.

Meet Miss Grant!

Meet Miss Grant!

The following morning, Jeff and Fallon make it out to the ranch where Jud Barrows is working and get to speak with him.  Now, I wonder where Jeff and Fallon got their western wear from since they were only supposed to be in Billings for a day and didn't pack.  I guess they must have stopped at K-Mart along the way, or something like that.  Barrows provides the information that Fallon suspected - that Adam was the attorney on the case involving the mercuric oxide.  They got him now.

Before they can tell Blake the news, there still is that matter of Danny's custody.  Blake walks pass the press all confident.  The press seems more interested in the nature of the relationship between Blake and Miss Grant (I guess that is what we are calling Krystle these days).  When the press turns their attention to Krystle, Blake, in an act of chivalry, defends Krystle's honor.  Well that act tells the press whatever everyone knows - Blake still wants Krystle.  But, that really is not the problem.   Does Krystle want to be with Blake?

Maybe if Claudia and Steven did not get a hotel room in Reno to have sex, they would have made it to court on time.  The judge allows for a recess until after lunch.  As with all good courtroom dramas, Steven and Claudia arrive at the last moment and announce they have married and present the marriage certificate to the judge.  Since the premise of the suit was that gay people should not raise children and Steven now has his beard, the judge drops the suit and allows Steven to keep custody.

Check mate, Blake

Check mate, Blake

Krystle feels sorry that Blake is all alone, but he really did bring it on himself.  Blake also had bad business news earlier as the government will not prevent the merger between Colby Co and Denver Carrington.  Alexis is prepared to call board meetings for both companies to finalize the merger.  This really cannot be happening Blake.

At least Blake does make some headway with Krystle as he takes Andrew's advice and tries to include Krystle more in his life.  Blake offers Krystle a job as head of public relations at Denver Carrington.  There are two problems:  1.) Krystle has no experience, and 2.) if the merger goes through, Krystle will be working for Alexis.  Blake assures Krystle that he will make sure that she will never have to answer to Alexis and that any moron can run public relations.  Krystle is on board.

This is what losing looks like, Blake

Smarting from her lost, Sammy Jo goes to see Danny but is still there when Steven arrives with his new bride.  (I hope Chris started looking for a new place to live.)  Sammy Jo gives the two some unhelpful advice and reminds them both that she is Danny's mother because she gave birth to him.  Yeah, well that does not matter as you head back to New York to continue your modeling career.

Kirby has decided to leave Denver and Jeff, but instead of just leaving, she leaves a message for Krystle telling her of her intention.  You know what that means, Krystle convinces Kirby not to leave and to talk with Jeff.  When Kirby finally gets Jeff alone (and away from Fallon) to speak, Jeff gets a call from Fallon and he needs to leave right away without telling Kirby why.  That is always healthy for a relationship.  But, then again, neither is adultery.

One day Kirby will stop dressing like Madeline

Fallon needed Jeff with her in Blake's office to tell Jeff what they learned about the mercuric oxide and Adam.  Jeff figures it out that the mercuric oxide came from the paint job that Adam had ordered in Cecil's old office.  Blake will not believe anything until he hears from Adam.  He already lost one son by not believing him, he will not do so with his other son.   It's a good thing Adam is going to set up his mother.  Familial love at its best.

 Memorable Dialogue

Krystle:  I can't say I'm sorry you lost your case.  But, I am sorry for all you lose with it - deeply sorry.

Sammy Jo:  I guess I am supposed to congratulate you on the wedding.  I do; for the way you pulled the wool over that judge's eyes, Steven.  And you, Claudia, I feel sorry for you, but I wish you good luck because, believe me, you're going to need it.
