dynasty Episode 22 - The Psychiatrist

We might as well start with the most ridiculous story line of the season (maybe I am being a little harsh) - Steven and Sammy Jo.  Steven, taking the day off, finds Sammy Jo tinkering with his Trans Am (what happened to the Lamborghini).  Sammy Jo has set up a rematch and Steven is so psyched about it that he starts making out with Sammy Jo.  Winning the race is even better for Sammy Jo, Steven is going to bring her to his cabin.

Steven is such a fool - Sammy Jo is not the naive grease monkey she lets on.  Krystle asks Sammy Jo why she didn't tell her that her father is not coming back for her.  Sammy Jo says she did not want to worry Krystle.  Now, the two need a plan.  Krystle recommends sending Sammy Jo to school to become a secretary.  Sammy Jo doesn't want to work, she wants to bag Steven.

Fallon really does not want to have Jeff's baby.  She goes to Dr. Nick to get him to recommend a doctor in New York who can do the procedure.  Nick has no time for this little girl.  Even though Dr. Nick is a jerk to Fallon, you can see why.  With Nick upstairs, Fallon "happens" to answer Nick's ringing phone - it is Krystle seeking an appointment.  Fallon, instead, interprets it to be the two setting up a rendezvous.  Nick is not impressed by the jealous act and kicks Fallon out.

Jeff is willing to do anything to stop Fallon from having an abortion.  He tries to see if he has any legal rights, but he does not.  Then, just so we can have a scene with Claudia, Jeff asks Claudia why a woman would want to have an abortion.  Claudia claims that a woman must be really insecure.  Jeff tries a new tact with Fallon - let's work things out.  Maybe if Jeff did not interrupt Fallon while she was watching Ryan's Hope, she would have been more receptive.  Fallon does not love Jeff and tells him again that she only married him so Cecil would give Blake the loan.  Jeff is so disgusted (but why is he surprised).

Blake arrives in Paris to a mix between the Dynasty theme and the Marseillaise.  Paris is just a stop over for Blake's flight to Rome.  At least the scene in the Paris airport allows for an array of Parisian stereotypes.  Okay, there was no mime.  Blake meets Alexis in Rome, but Rashid is not there.  He is to meet them in a villa in the Italian hillside.  Krystle does not like the secretive nature of Blake's dealings - as if this is the first time.

It takes Rashid three days to meet Blake at the villa.  During those three days, Alexis tries to woo Blake, and even gets a photographer to capture Blake rubbing Alexis down.  The photograph makes it back to the States.  Apparently, the Carrington mansion does not receive the tabloids, but Nick's office does.  Krystle sees the picture of Alexis and Blake while in the waiting room at Nick's office and runs off.  Nick chases her down and brings her back to his place for pasta.  What about the other appointments. I also love the mess Italian characters make while in the kitchen preparing spaghetti.   Nick spends the afternoon with Krystle, and when Krystle finds the tabloid in Nick's jacket, she opens up to Nick.  Nick tells her there is no reason to cry for Blake.  Krystle wants to leave for fear of what she would do if she stayed.  Nick wants her to stay and the two kiss.  (Fallon was right!)

Did Blake really bring a monogrammed robe?

Now, that is two men Krystle has kissed since been marrying to Blake.  Blake better catch up.  Well, notch one so far, as Blake kisses Alexis.  Blake felt so relieved to get his tankers of oil, and Alexis looked particularly radiant, he could not help himself.  Blake does feel instant guilt, but Alexis tries to convince him not to.  Blake, if only you knew what your wife was doing.

Again Krystle?

Again Krystle?

Memorable Dialogue

Alexis:  Not even your lovely wife, number two
Blake:  I'd like to remind you Krystle is number one
Alexis:  How could I forget.

Blake:  Just what is your connection to Rashid Ahmed
Alexis:  What connection is there ever between powerful, attractive men and lonely divorced women

Blake:  You look more beautiful than ever.
Alexis:  Wouldn't you like to take a closer look
